EARLIER COUNTY LISTS AND MAPS OF MARKETS AND FAIRS, PUBLISHED AND UNPUBLISHED

These vary widely in the sources used and in the chronological range covered. Some provide very little information, with no details of the sources used.¹

At the final stage of this project, the evidence compiled for the Gazetteer was checked against the county lists not marked with an asterisk.
