This issue of the Monthly Herald has in fact been entirely given over to a guide to the Grand Labour Fair, a fundraising exercise where numerous stalls were set up offering goods for sale. The pamphlet misses no opportunity to exhort its members to part with money and to support the Party, for example suggesting that the homegrown fruit is ‘full of vitamins to keep you in fighting trim for the election’.
