Harold Cardozo was the chief correspondent for the Daily Mail in Paris and a war correspondent during the Spanish Civil War. The first British journalist in France after capitulation, Cardozo noted that France had no freedom and that Great Britain could eventually restore France to ‘her former sovereign power’.
