Gordon Schaffer was a British journalist and trade unionist, known for providing the earliest accounts of Soviet-occupied Germany. In this work written near the end of the Second World War, Schaffer called for the Labour Party to mobilise against the Conservative Government, especially against the ‘men behind it’, such as ‘monopolists’, ‘internationalists’ and bankers.
