Abstract

Presentation of ongoing research concerning behaviour in the public streets of London 1870-1900, focusing especially on the relationship between civilians and patrolling police constables. The presentation and ensuing discussion regards the use of microsociological methods in historical research and the perspective of practice and interaction in urban history.
