What period does the site cover?

The Making History project is concerned with the period from the professionalisation of the discipline to the present day. Although there is obviously no exact date when this occurred, as a rough rule of thumb only individuals whose careers extended beyond 1900 have been included.

What about historians who are still living?

Living historians have only been included in cases where sufficient time has elapsed for their work to be judged significant by posterity.

Who decided on who/what to include?

The Advisory Board were initially consulted about suggestions for individuals, organisations and projects, journals and themes. A preliminary list was then compiled by the project officer and re-circulated to the Board and other outside bodies for corrections and additions. Inevitably the list remains subjective and open to future change.

How do I submit any suggestions/corrections to the site?
