Cambridge School of Intellectual History
Less a school than a number of Cambridge intellectual historians who shared a common aspiration, namely to try to reconstruct an intellectual context within which major works of philosophy could be studied, as opposed to the traditional way of studying philosophy, where great texts tended to be examined for their internal coherence and for the truth status of the claims that they made.
