Introduction
1807 Commemorated offers the opportunity for museum practitioners and academics to debate and engage with some of the difficult aspects of the representing of sorrowful and disturbing pasts. The topics of debate listed here are designed to provoke response and discussion. The means by which the past is relayed to the public can be a highly contentious issue, we therefore ask contributors to these debates to leave feedback on the messageboard, so those involved can hope to improve and enrich the way they approach the subject.
