Disarm! (London : Trades Union Congress General Council : Labour Party, 1934) [Heisler] P4123
This pamphlet shows the wider left movement in the UK united in the cause of peace, five years before the Second World War. It contains an eclectic mix of pieces of poetry, reports of the folly of previous conflicts and specially commissioned essays by Labour figures. Markedly international in its contributors, it also assembles many canonical literary figures to emphasize its probity, including Thomas Hardy, Tolstoy, Burns and Shelley.
