Media output contributes significantly to the public perception and memory of the past. These issues are particularly significant when dealing with aspects of a traumatic and painful past. The responsibilities of production and the sensitivities of consumption are the significant issues which need to be considered. To understand the significance of such representations the relevant media output needs to be reviewed.
