The Federation of Family History Societies (FFHS) is the international umbrella organisation for such bodies, encompassing 219 societies representing 300,000 members. Founded in 1974, it is worldwide in scope, and aims to co-ordinate and assist the work of societies or other bodies interested in family history, genealogy and heraldry.
