The History of Parliament is a major academic project to create a scholarly reference work describing the members, constituencies and activities of the Parliament of England and the United Kingdom, begun in the 1930s by Josiah Wedgwood and then revived in 1951 under the auspices of Lewis Namier. The project is the most ambitious collective biography apart from the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography (ODNB) in the United Kingdom, and together with the Victoria County History (VCH) one of the most well-established and productive historical projects in Britain.
