The Centre for Contemporary British History (CCBH) is one of the three research centres of the Institute of Historical Research (IHR). It developed out of the Institute of Contemporary British History which was founded in 1986 to promote the study of recent past. Some of its most notable products have been the 'witness seminars' on events or developments which have taken place within the bounds of living memory.
